Updates from Mouse in the Lab:

” I have been thinking about the tools I use to cast a spell.

What I mean by casting a spell is using process magic to set my intentions going in a forward motion.

A spell is any kind of ritual or exercise that cements an idea in your brain. It makes a significant moment to launch from.

This is the beginning of my manifesting a new series that will be heavily graffiti influenced.

The series will include several phrases and words which I believe are important magic concepts that relate to me personally as well as universally.

This is some of the process that I have begun for the upcoming series, these were done in marker but the finished works will be in five different pieces in five different mediums. 2 digital and 3 analog. Marker, Acrylic, Watercolor, Deep Dream and Photoshop.

This is one of the first practice sessions that I did. I hadn’t tried any block or graffiti letters in a long time. Don’t be afraid to try new things! ”

” This is a concept sketch for a a piece that will be included later in the series. I am a big fan of hitchhikers guide and think that it’s a must-read for all beings. ”

” Discordianism and Eris was my first introduction to magic and it was also satyrical and tongue-in-cheek which lead me down the path of choosing my own way of thinking and being instead of just going with the default programming. ”
” One of my nicknames is Mouse. I adopted it for myself. To me, this piece represents being someone you chose to be, rather than the person society made you by default. This was really just about experimenting with a new material that I was not used to. I definitely caught the marker bug with this one. ”

” To me, Zen represents flow. I am a flow artist who uses many props like poi, devil stix and staves. “Zen” represents the part of me that has learned to be calm and accepting of the way things are instead of resisting ”
